Navarre Beach Flying Double Red Flag

Double red flags, closing the water to swimming, are flying at Navarre Beach due to extremely dangerous rip currents caused by Tropical Storm Andrea. Visitors and residents should not enter the surf due to the life threatening conditions. Lifeguards are on duty from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will warn beach goers, however, they may not be able to enter into the water to save those ignoring the flag warnings. Flags indicating the beach conditions are posted daily at each Navarre Beach public access area and online at www.santarosa.fl.gov.

Navarre’s Gavin Wehby experiences storybook season

Last year, Gavin Wehby had to make a difficult decision. The two-sport athlete would have to decide whether he should continue at Navarre High School or transfer to Pensacola Catholic for his junior and senior year. To make matters more difficult, his parents told him the decision was his alone.

'Cool' idea raises money for good cause

Donating to a good cause can now be as easy as buying a bag of ice. An ice machine located in front of Century 21 Island View Realty in Navarre has been bought by Horizons-The Arc of the Emerald Coast, which is an advocacy organization based in Fort Walton Beach for citizens of all ages with disabilities such as downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, austime and spin bifida.
