Play ball – That was the sound Navarre High School baseball players and fans had been anticipating since last year’s loss to West Florida in the region semifinals.

The excitement of a new season was dimmed somewhat by Pensacola Catholic’s 9-7 come-from-behind win against the Raiders Feb. 12 at the Milton preseason classic, though.

The Crusaders scored four runs in the fifth inning to overcome a one-run Navarre lead and added a couple of late inning insurance runs to hold off the Raiders.
