Tinisha Thomas broke records in the clean-and-jerk and total weight lifted at a state-qualifying  “super sectional”  Jan. 28 in Fort Walton Beach.

Thomas, a junior at Navarre High School, competes in the 119-pound division. She bench-pressed 140 pounds and broke the meet’s record in the clean-and-jerk with 150 pounds, for a meet-record total of 290 pounds.
Nine Raiders placed among the top three in all but one weight division last week, finishing first with 47 team points. Milton was second with 31 points, Choctawhatchee had 23, Fort Walton Beach 22, Tate 15, Pace 15, Baker 14, Gulf Breeze 12, Escambia 9, Washington 6 and South Walton 2.
