Defense dominated Navarre’s final District 1-4A battle of the year Friday, Jan. 23, but when the dust settled after two overtimes, the Raiders had outscored cross-county rival Milton 40-38.
“The players have begun to realize that if they play hardnosed defense they can hang in with just about any team in the district,” said Navarre coach Rob Whitley. “And to hold a pretty good offensive team like Milton to 38 points through an entire game plus two overtimes says a lot about how good our defense can be.”
