Navarre High School’s Lady Raiders picked up two wins last week, the first a 61-55 overtime decision against visiting Escambia and the second a one-sided 50-25 home victory over a shorthanded Gulf Breeze team. The wins were tempered, however, by a 39-24 home loss Saturday, Jan. 17, to Pensacola.
After trailing most of the game Monday, Escambia – sparked by high-scoring point guard Summer Stewart - took a four-point lead with less than two minutes on the clock. It took a three-point buzzer-beater from the corner by Navarre’s Lori Fletcher to knot the score at 52-52 and send the game into overtime.
