Savon Bracey came off the bench to score 15 points to help Navarre High School’s Raiders defeat Mosley, 63-47, to win the consolation bracket in the Alec Kessler Memorial High School Basketball Tournament held at Gulf Breeze last week.
The Raiders started off on the wrong foot Dec. 29, blowing a nine-point second-half lead and losing to Fairhope, Ala., 47-46, in the first round. That setback dropped Navarre into the losers’ bracket, eliminating any chance of winning the eight-team tournament. The eventual winner was Livingston Academy of Nashville, Tenn., which downed Ooltewah High of Chattanooga, Tenn., 58-39 in the title game on New Year’s Eve.
