Navarre High School got its 2008-2009 District 1-4A basketball campaign off to a good start with wins against West Florida, 81-50, and Tate, 72-70, but powerhouse Washington ended the Raiders’ modest streak to an end with a 74-61 win.
“Picking up two wins in three games isn’t too bad for us, but our players have got to cut down on the turnovers if we want to do well in this tough district,” said first-year Navarre coach Rob Whitley.
