Two fumbled kickoffs helped the Big Green Indians (5-3, 0-1 in District 2-6A play) build a 28-7 halftime lead, but Navarre (5-3, 2-0) stormed back after intermission. The rally capped an emotional night at Bennett C. Russell Stadium. Navarre High School honored its senior football players, cheerleaders and band members and also retired Ian Lockwood's jersey number, 10, in a pregame ceremony. Lockwood was a Navarre student/athlete who died of brain cancer his senior year. His struggle against his terminal illness received widespread recognition and inspired and continues to inspire many Navarre residents.
