Four in a row
The Argonauts are back in the NCAA tournament for the fourth year in a row and the fifth time in seven years. UWF holds a record of 11-7 in the NCAA tournament, and the Argos are 2-1 against Delta State, 0-1 against Florida Tech, 1-0 against Stillman, 1-0 against Tampa and 0-1 against Valdosta State. UWF has won the regional tournament once in its history in 2011, and that team went on to win the NCAA Division II national championship.
The University of Tampa is hosting the regional tournament for the second straight year and the third time in the last four years. The Argos have had a tough time at the UT Baseball Field in regional play, going 1-4 combined between 2010 and 2012. The one win in those five games was against Tampa in an elimination game at last year’s regional.
