The Pensacola Sports Association on Sunday announced that the Florida College System Activities Association will hold its Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Championship tournament in Pensacola May 3-5.
PSA, in coordination with the City of Pensacola Department of Neighborhood Services and Pensacola State College, is hosting the tournament for the third year of a four-year contract.
Sixteen teams will compete for two National Junior College Athletic Association district titles. The district winners will play for the FCSAA championship and both will advance to the national tournament in St. George, Utah.
Pensacola State College’s softball team will compete in the tournament for the first time since it’s been held in Pensacola. The other 15 schools include, from the Atlantic District: Brevard Community College, College of Central Florida, Daytona State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Indian River State College, Miami Dade College, Santa Fe College and Seminole State College; the Gulf District includes Chipola College, Gulf Coast State College, Hillsborough Community College, Northwest Florida State College, Polk State College, State College of Florida, South Florida State College, Tallahassee and PSC.
All games will be played at Michael J. DeSorbo/ Exchange Park’s four fields.
Tickets will be available at the gate at Exchange Park for $7, youth price is $5 with all area youth players receiving free admittance when wearing team uniforms; children 4 and younger will be admitted free. Three-day tournament passes are $18.
