Ice Flyers release home playoff dates

The Pensacola Ice Flyers have announced home playoff dates for the first round of the 2013 Southern Professional Hockey League’s President's Cup playoffs.

 The Ice Flyers will host Game Two at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at 7:05 p.m. If necessary, Game Three will take place at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, March 31.

The Flyers’ first-round opponent will be determined by the season’s final regular season games this weekend.

The first game likely will be played Thursday, March 28, or Friday, March 29 and will be a road game for the Flyers.

A team must win three best-of-three playoff rounds to win the President’s Cup. The first round must be played between Monday, March 25 and Sunday, March 31, the second round between Monday, April 1 and Sunday, April 7 and the third between Monday, April 8 and Sunday, April 14.

The SPHL and the two organizations playing for the President's Cup can choose to play a best-of-five series and extend the finals by one week prior to the start of the finals as long as certain scenarios take place.

The Ice Flyers will finish the regular season with games at Columbus, Ga., on Friday and Biloxi, Miss., on Friday. Pensacola will host the Louisiana IceGators at 3:05 p.m. Sunday in the Pensacola Bay Center. If the Flyers win Friday and Saturday, they will play for the regular-season championship Sunday.

Playoff tickets will be available at the Pensacola Bay Center Box Office or online at ticketmaster.com on the Monday of each round. Season ticketholders still have time to reserve their seats for the playoff home games that were not included in their season ticket package. Season ticketholders can sign up at any home game or in the Ice Flyers' office.
