Moorer works to make a difference at FHSAA

It’s clichéd because it’s true: Life isn’t always fair.

That didn’t stop Navarre High School junior Hunter Moorer from trying to balance the scales a little, though, in the arena of high school athletics.

“My concern is that the fastest and best athletes aren’t making it to state competition,” said Moorer, a member of the Florida High School Athletics Association’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The committee met earlier this month to discuss its focus issues. “In track and field, for example, some districts have as many as 16 teams, and some have as few as six, but the same number of teams from each district qualify for regionals.”
