Next stop for the Navarre runners will be the state championships, which will begin Saturday morning at the Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City. The Leon High School boy’s team, which finished first in the regional meet, is favored to repeat as state champion, while the Navarre team hopes to improve on its sixth-place finish at Greenway.
The Lady Raider team has to be considered a group of overachievers as none of the teams seems to be much competition for the Chiles squad whose runners cross the finish in the first five positions to record the best possible score, 15.
