The Ninth Annual Subway High School All-Star Football Game featured six of the 2012 Region 1-6A champions from Navarre.
The stout Raider defense had four representatives, linebacker Devin Colonel, defensive lineman Jonathon Shaw and the defensive backs Johnny Robinson-Pettus and Nick Benton. The Raiders’ offense was also well-represented with running back Jay Warren and quarterback Andrew Rieves.
The East versus West format pits senior standouts from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties’ high schools against Escambia County’s best seniors.
In an odd twist, unlike most “all-star” games, this year’s tilt was a good old-fashioned ground-and-pound defensive struggle with the West prevailing 15-6.
