Navarre High School routed Fort Walton Beach 44-28 Friday to clinch the District 2-6A football championship, just the second such title in school history. The Raiders improved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in district play with their sixth-straight win and will host the District 1-6A runner-up in the first round of the Florida High School Athletics Association playoffs Nov. 16 at Bennett C. Russell Stadium.
The Raiders won their first district title and made their first-ever football postseason appearance in 2006. The team made the playoffs as district runners-up in 2007 and 2010.
Navarre will finish the regular season by hosting Lynn Haven Mosley on Friday in the Raiders’ final district game and Gulf Breeze on Nov. 9 in the annual Beach Bowl clash.
