Preston Porter of Navarre finished third in the final Hobby Class race of the season Saturday at Southern Raceway to clinch his first-ever points title.

Preston Porter finished third in the final Hobby Class race of the season Saturday at Southern Raceway to clinch his first-ever points title.

“It’s a good feeling,” Porter, 21, of Navarre, said Monday of the championship, although a consistently competitive season helped him build a 24-point lead and a degree of confidence heading into the final race.
