Raiders lose second district match to Pace

Pace High School’s Patriots beat Navarre in three sets Thursday at NHS in a District 1-6A volleyball match. It was the Patriots’ second district win against the Raiders.

Navarre was outscored 19-25, 12-25, 23-25. The loss dropped the Raiders to 10-6 overall and 8-3 in district play.

Allison Freer led Navarre’s effort with 22 digs and two aces and Sarah Betts added nine digs and six blocks. Shamani Booker had eight blocks and four digs, Kelly Barrett added seven digs and four assists, Kelsey Belmain garnered 10 digs, Miranda Gagnon had five digs and Kiera Foster added three kills.

Navarre is scheduled to play a district match at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pine Forest, host Gulf Breeze at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and travel to Pensacola Washington for a 6 p.m. match Thursday. The freshmen and junior varsity teams will play two hours and an hour, respectively, before each of those varsity matches.
