PENSACOLA – Booker T. Washington High School’s girls’ golf team beat Navarre by two strokes Tuesday at Scenic Hills Country Club.
Jade Sanders made the difference for the Wildcats, finishing the nine-hole course in 40 strokes. No other player for either team scored less than 51.
How dominant was Sanders’ round? If each team’s top score was discarded and the second- through fourth-place scores totaled, Navarre would have won the match by nine strokes.
Brooke Murphy and Maddie Roberts both shot 51, closely followed by Ailsa Clark and Jessica Emerson, who each carded scores of 52. Laurel Emerson shot 57.
Navarre was scheduled to host Pine Forest beginning at 4 p.m. today at The Club at Hidden Creek.
