Raiders’ golfers struggle at Miracle Strip Invitational

FORT WALTON BEACH – The Miracle Strip Invitational regularly draws the best high school golfers in Northwest Florida to Fort Walton Beach for boys’ and girls’ tournaments.

On Sept. 18, Navarre High School’s best four girl golfers played the 18-hole Oaks course at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club in 444 strokes – 115 more than first-place Niceville (329). Milton finished second in 363 strokes.

The boys’ team also failed to come within 100 strokes of first place in the boys’ competition Sept. 19.

The Raiders four best individual scores totaled 391, while Pensacola Catholic’s top foursome needed just 288 strokes to complete the 18-hole Pines course at the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club.
