MILTON – It took five tough sets, but Navarre won a tough District 1-6A match Thursday at Milton.
The Raiders lost the first two sets, 20-25 and 26-27, before rallying for three straight set wins, 25-20, 26-24, 15-10.
Navarre improved to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in district play with the win.
Kelly Barrett dished up 35 assists to lead the Raiders’ attack, Shamani Booker helped with 11 kills and 22 digs, Kelsey Belmain added 11 kills and 13 digs, Allison Freer had 19 digs, Miranda Gagnon 13 digs, Sarah Betts 8 kills and Kiera Foster 7 kills.
The Raiders play three matches next week, a non-district date at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Crestview followed by district tilts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at home against Pensacola and 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Tate.
