It only took the 2012 Navarre High School volleyball team six matches to win more than it did in 26 matches a year ago.
The Raiders beat West Florida in three sets Monday at NHS, improving to 5-1 overall. Navarre was 4-22 in 2011.
Set scores against the Jaguars were 25-15, 25-13 and 25-17.
Shamani Booker again led the Raiders’ balanced effort with 5 kills, 4 aces and 4 digs. Allison Freer had 8 digs and 6 kills, Sarah Betts added 7 kills and 3 aces and Kiera Foster added 3 kills.
Navarre resumes District 1-6A action tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Pace hoping to improve its 4-0 district mark. The Raiders host Pine Forest, also a district foe, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The freshmen and junior varsity teams will play both nights, at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. respectively.
