The youth of the Navarre High School Lady Raider volleyball team were treated harshly in an away contest by a very experienced Gulf Breeze team in the first match of the season on Aug. 29.
The Dolphins buzz sawed through the Raiders in the first game by a score of 25-to-2.
The Raiders shook off their first game jitters and their play improved in the second game but still only managed nine points.
In the third game, the Raiders kept the score much closer before losing by 25 – 19 in which the Dolphins substituted freely.
Two days later, the Raiders showed some improvement in a loss to Tate at home. It was a game of streaks and Tate owned all of them. Allison Freer started the first game with two aces and it was the only lead the Raiders possessed. Tate took the next seven points and the Raiders never were closer than four points away.
