Ten-year-old Kallie Anderson would be the last person to consider herself a hometown hero, but this humble young lady from Navarre recently won a state-level competition that highlighted Navarre in the Major League Baseball arena.
Kallie was invited to compete in the 2011 Aquafina MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition at Tiger Point by her friend, Madi Schluter. The event is skills competition that provides boys and girls the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championship events at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game
At first, Kallie thought it would just be something fun to do and didn’t take the competition seriously.
