Mosley mashes Navarre 42-7

Navarre turned the ball over five times and couldn’t stop Lynn Haven-Mosley’s potent ground attack in a 42-7 loss Thursday at Tommy Oliver Stadium.

Raiders coach Chad Lashley sent junior quarterback Andrew Velazquez to relieve Michael Pettus after the Dolphins took a two-touchdown lead early in the second quarter. Velazquez had been the starter in Navarre’s first three games, but was benched in favor of Pettus against Milton. Pettus, a junior who led the Raiders in rushing last season, and senior transfer Kwamane Howard paced Navarre’s option attack to a 28-7 win against the Panthers, but it was apparent early the Raiders (2-3) needed more offense to try to catch the undefeated District 3-4A Dolphins (4-0).
