Navarre football fans should get ready for an excellent 2011-2012 season if the Spring Jamboree is any indication of the future of the new Navarre High School football team with a 27 – 6 score against Escambia.
According to football coach Chad Lashley, the jamboree is played by only the students who will play as a team next year, not graduating seniors.
“This is the beginning of next year’s team,” Lashley said. “The game serves as a measuring stick to determine how much progress we made.”
With the team no longer able to rely on the leading seniors, new players must step into those roles.
“Spring football is a great opportunity for returning players to begin their new roles,” Lashley said.
