The Navarre High School varsity boys soccer team went into last season with plenty of questions regarding their defense.
This year, the defense, with many returning players, will be the strongest aspect of the Raiders’ game.
Basketball coach Dave Thorson once said, “Offense sells tickets. Defense wins championships.” With several defensive players returning next year, boys soccer coach Jeff Knapp hopes the quote holds true in 2011 – 2012.
“If we can shut down our opponent’s offense, we have a chance to beat anyone,” Knapp said.
The defense will be led by seniors Brendon ‘Bear’ Robas, Jacob Terry and Drew Conley. All three have spent three years forging a tough Raider defense.
