3 Navarre Raiders named area scholar-athletes

The Pensacola Sports Association Senior Scholar Athlete Banquet was held on May 12 and honored every high school senior in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties who was nominated by their school as a scholar-athlete.

This year 15 schools participated and 22 sports were included in the awards program. More than 750 people attended the banquet, according to a Pensacola Sports Association press release.

Scholarship winners, one from each sport, received full tuition scholarship offers to Pensacola State College. Brandon Funk of Pace High School and Jennifer Pfeifler from Gulf Breeze High School won Overall Male and Female Senior Scholar Athlete. They received a cash scholarship from the association foundation to the school of their choice.
