First baseball Raider to sign to Division I

Navarre baseball standout, Devante Taylor, agreed to accept a scholarship to attend and play baseball for Alcorn State University in Mississippi last Wednesday. 

According to baseball Head Coach Mickey Quinn, Taylor is the first Navarre High School baseball player to sign with a Division I college or university.  Shown at the ceremony are Taylor’s father Wayne Taylor, sitting right, mother, Sabrina, and younger brother, D’Andre. Navarre vice principal Donna Doughty and Quinn, standing rear, witnessed the event.
