Swim team to host challenge

The Navarre High School swim team will challenge other athletes in the pool at a special event Oct. 9.

Athletes from most of the high school's other sports teams, such as football, baseball and softball, will be represented, said Lauris Joyner, swim team coach.

The swimmers and athletes will compete in 25- and 50-yard races, plus some fun races, Joyner said.

The event will be at the Pullum Family YMCA, with warmups starting at 4 p.m. Admission is $1, and there will also be concessions for sale. Proceeds will benefit the swim team.
