Navarre handed Escambia its first district loss of the season Tuesday, 6-5, led by the homerun power of Sarah Beth Marquis and the pitching of freshman Allison Pettigrew.  
Marquis slammed a ninth inning game winning solo shot over the left center field fence, and Pettigrew hung tough on the mound striking out 10 Lady Gator hitters.
The Raiders followed up the win with an 8-1 road victory over Pine Forest Friday putting them in the thick of the district 1-5A battle. Navarre, Pace, Milton and Escambia all have 2-1 district records.
