After splitting a pair of preseason games last week, Navarre High School baseball coach Mickey O’Quinn was happy with the Raiders’ progress heading into their season-opening tilt at Washington on Feb. 15.
“We are right where I want to be heading into the season,” O’Quinn said Monday. “We feel like we have some very solid guys on the mound who will give us a chance to win every time out. We did leave a large amount of runners on (base), but overall I’m not too concerned with that. At this point in the year, pitchers are always ahead of hitters as it takes some live at-bats for hitters to really get their timing down. “
