Navarre placed 2nd overall losing to Spruce Creek 28 to 26 at the FHSAA Girls state weightlifting championship in Kissimmee on Saturday. Navarre HIgh can count two state champions in their midst - Jameka Anderson and Kayla Poole.
Jameka (pictured) placed first in the state and broke the state record for the "Clean and Jerk" lifting 170 pounds and in the combined weight lift for her class - in the 119 pound division.
Kayla Poole placed first in the state in the unlimited category lifting 245 at the bench and 195 at the jerk for a combined lift of 440.
Other Navarre High medallars included: Shanice Warren; 2nd, Praise Pettus; 4th, and the following placed sixth in their weight division; Hannah Johnson, Amanda Friar, Haley Herman, and Hannah Irby.
