Raiders girls soccer team has great week

Raiders 3, Panthers 1

In what most thought was a preview of the district second round playoffs, the Lady Raider soccer team prevailed over Milton at home on Jan. 4 by a score of 3 to 1.

Raiders 2, Arnold 0

It was senior night on Jan. 7, and the Raiders were not going to let anything spoil their moment as they shut out Arnold 2-0 at home. At the 30-minute mark, seniors Herman and Rodwell combined for the first Raider goal. Herman took a corner kick and passed to Rodwell who buried a shot into the right side of the goal.

Raiders 1, Gulf Breeze 1

The two Santa Rosa rivals played to a 1-1 tie at Gulf Breeze on Jan 8.

“The girls played well but I think they were tired after playing Arnold last night for senior night,” Coach Rob Simon said. “Each team made one mistake and against good teams, they will capitalize on them.”
