After losing the entire Lady Raider defense to graduation, Navarre High School girls’ soccer coach Rob Simon was faced with rebuilding his team with new players and moving others to new positions. It was a rough beginning for the Raiders as they lost to Pensacola 4-0 on Oct. 28 and 2-0 against Catholic on Oct 30.
“These are preseason games and I really do not care about the score,” Simon said. “The games gave the new players experience in their first varsity games. Everyone played about half a game each.
“We only had tryouts about two weeks ago. There have not been a lot of practices. The preseason games allow the players to work with each other for the first time.
