Navarre High’s boys and girls track and field teams each took first in a triangular at Gulf Breeze on St. Patrick’s Day, but if there was a sportsmanship award the Lady Dolphin’s Emily Tryon would have earned the gold.
One of the top three distance runners in the state, Tryon had easily defeated Navarre’s Karyssa Tourelle-Fallon in all of their face-offs over the past three years. On March 17, everyone expected more of the same in the 3,200-meter run, the next-to-last event of the competition.
