Governor-Elect Rick Scott visited Magnolia Grill in Fort Walton Beach Wednesday morning and thanked the Panhandle for helping him win the election. Scott also said that there was no reason why Florida could not be leading the nation in job growth, and he has a plan.

Accident at HBTS main entrance sends three to hospital

A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of US 98 and Sunrise Boulevard in Navarre resulted in injuries that sent three people to the hospital on Dec. 28. Two of the injuries were listed as serious, while the third person’s condition was listed as minor.

Second annual Penguin Plunge

The “penguins” participating in the second annual Penguin Plunge into Santa Rosa Sound next month will be “Freezin’ for a Reason.” According to Mandy Evers at Juana’s Pagodas, the proceeds from the event will benefit the Emerald Coast Honor Flight, a local non-profit organization dedicated to flying America’s veterans to the nation’s capital to view the landmarks free of charge.
