Lady Raider soccer makes 2010 debut

Read more...After losing the entire Lady Raider defense  to graduation, Navarre High School girls’ soccer coach Rob Simon was faced with rebuilding his team with new players and moving others to new positions. It was a rough beginning for the Raiders as they lost to Pensacola 4-0 on Oct. 28 and 2-0 against Catholic on Oct 30.

Santa Rosa school district resumes drug screenings

The Santa Rosa County School District announced last week that it would resume random drug screenings for student-athletes, citing what officials said was an increase in drug-related incidents since they halted testing nearly two years ago.

According to Bill Emerson, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction , the district has seen a  “marked increase”  in the number of alternative placements since the district stopped funding the program because of massive budget cuts.
