FOOTBALL: Choctaw 50, Navarre 47

FORT WALTON BEACH -- Navarre almost ruined the Big Green Indians' football homecoming Friday at Joe Etheridge Stadium.

Trailing Choctawhatchee 47-24 midway through the fourth quarter, the Raiders mounted a furous rally, reeling off 23 unanswered points to tie the game. But with less than a minute remaining, the Indians intercepted a Navarre pass, setting up kicker Dominique Jordan's game-winning 23-yard field goal with five seconds left.

Navarre fell to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in District 2-6A play. Choctaw improved to 3-2 and 1-1 in district games.
