LYNN HAVEN – Mosley beat Navarre 49-20 Thursday at Tommy Oliver Stadium, snapping the Raiders’ modest two-game winning streak and further muddying the District 2-6A playoff picture.

Navarre (4-5, 3-2) still could qualify for the postseason, but the Raiders need help. The Maroon-and-Black came into the final weekend of district play tied with Niceville and Choctawhatchee for first place with 3-1 records. A win would have guaranteed Navarre at least a three-way tie for first place and a chance to play tiebreakers with the Eagles and Indians to determine the district’s two playoff teams.

On Friday, Choctawhatchee hosts Fort Walton Beach and Niceville hosts Crestview.

The Dolphins (4-4, 2-3) gained more than 400 yards, turned in its highest score this year and held Navarre to its lowest point total of the season. Senior running back David Craig rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns and wingback Daniel Rebstock caught a 33-yard pass from Zach Rhodes and scored on a 31-yard run on a trick play.

Navarre quarterback Dusty Jones threw long touchdown passes to Jordan Leggett (64 yards) and Marquis Hagewood (72) and finished with 287 passing yards. The Dolphins limited senior running back Dwayne Carter, who had rushed for 1,135 yards and 18 touchdowns in eight games, to just 37 yards on seven carries.

If necessary, district tiebreakers will be played Monday. The Raiders will play their final regular-season game Nov. 11 at Gulf Breeze.
