Car burglaries in Gulf Breeze stresses locking vehicles

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help in order to solve a recent string of car burglaries.

During the nighttime hours between Feb. 13 and into the morning hours of Feb. 14, 17 vehicles were burglarized in subdivisions off of Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

All of the burglaries were in close proximity to each other. During these crimes, 16 of the 17 vehicles were left unlocked by their owners.  The other vehicle was burglarized after the unknown suspect threw a brick through the window to gain access.  Different types of valuables were taken from the vehicles, to include money, handguns, credit cards, electronics, purses, computers, jewelry, and clothing.

No suspects are known at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office stresses the importance of keeping your vehicle locked at all times. Owners are also urged to keep valuables out of sight, or take them inside. Anyone with information concerning these burglaries is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP.
