Child pronouced dead after accident on Eglin

A child that fell out of the back of a truck bed was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12.
Eglin Air Force Bas is leading the investigation with involvement with Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Children and Families on the death of the 4-year-old. "We received a call that there had been an accident on Eglin with a possible fatality," said Lois Walsh spokesperson with public affairs for Eglin. "Florida Highway Patrol came and told us that the child has been LifeLighted to Gulf Breeze Medical Center." According to Walsh, the child lost balance while in the back of the truck and fell out. The child's stepfather, mother and another child were in the truck, while two children were in the bed at the time of the accident.
