Prescribed burn on Eglin

Eglin AFB has one aerial prescribed burn planned between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., in burn block 301B (TTA: G-1/G-24).

 The 301B block is about 800 acres and located on the western portion of the reservation east of Eglin Test Area B-82, south of range road 235, north of range road 239 and west of range road 250. The transport winds are predicted to be out of the northeast with the mixing height forecast at 1,500 feet, which should minimize smoke in sensitive areas. 

 If you encounter smoke on the highway or range roads, slow down and use extreme caution. A permit has been obtained from the Florida Forest Service.
