American Legion Post 382 in Navarre Florida will host Navarre Park Veterans Day ceremonies on 11 Nov at 11am at Navarre Memorial Park adjacent to USHwy 98 in Navarre. 

VFW "Spectre" post will be sharing the ceremony and color guards from other organizations such as NJROTC Navarre High School, Hurlburt Chiefs Association, Boy Scouts of American local Post will be present.  The local NJROTC choir will sing The National Anthem.   Commissioner Goodin will present the County proclamation and speak prior to the Guest Speaker, LtGen Michael Wooley addressing those in attendance.  LtGen Wooley retired as Commander of the USAF Special Operations Command at Hurlburt in January 08.  His Biography and schedule of events is contained in the attached PDF program document.
 
This ceremony is normally conducted on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to commemorate the WWI Armistice and has evolved to commemorate all veterans of all conflicts.  Wreaths will be presented in their memory and the famous Poem "flanders field" will be read.
 
Immediately following there will be another solemn ceremony for the retirement of US Flags at the American Legion Post 382 in Navarre, which is located one block north of the Park ceremony (within walking distance).  Once again, Both the American Legion Navarre Post and the VFW "Spectre" Post will perform a "combined" ceremony where unserviceable flags are placed respectfully on a fire.  There is a recepticle outside the Navarre American Legion Post at 1850 Luneta, Navarre, for the community to deposit unserviceable/worn US Flags.  This ceremony is usually conducted annually and flags are collected from the entire community.
 
An open house BBQ (Hamburgers and Hot Dogs) will be held immediately following which is free to American Legion and our VFW partners and their families but 3.00 for non-members at the American Legion 382 post, 1850 Luneta, Navarre, Fl.
