Memorial Day recognized in Navarre

Memorial Day is a day set aside to recognize the men and women who have died while protecting the nation.

People in Navarre can help remember those who have given their lives by attending the annual Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28 at Navarre Park.

The following county offices and departments will be closed May 28 in observance of Memorial Day. Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, including the library system and animal shelter, clerk of the Court, property appraiser, supervisor of elections and tax collector offices will be closed. The Central Landfill located on 6337 Da Lisa Road will be open from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on May 28. Regular hours of operation will resume on May 29.
