Beach Monkey closes

The Beach Monkey is closed as of today.

The Beach Monkey, owned by Chad and Brooke Volland, was starting its second year in operation. The Vollands' previous restaurant Cocodries was open in the same location for eight years.

“Thank you to everyone that patronized our restaurant and for 10 good years. We appreciate your support," Chad said. "It was an honor and pleasure to serve the resident of Navarre and all the visitors over the years.”

Chad said he wasn't not sure what the next step is.

“Brooke and I have a little girl due in a month and looking forward to that and time with my family,” he said.

Chad and Brooke are calling 30 employees to let them know that they are closed and no longer have a job.
