Hurlburt Field to temporarily open additional gate

Hurlburt Field and Okaloosa County personnel are working to open an additional gate for outbound base traffic on Jan. 24, between the hours of 3:30 and 6 p.m.

Exiting vehicles will only be able to turn right and head Westbound on U.S. Highway 98 towards Navarre. This joint effort is one of many solutions base leadership is considering to help alleviate traffic congestion on U.S. 98 and on base during peak traffic hours.

The gate opening is a temporary measure that will provide Hurlburt Field assessable data that will determine the future impact this would have on traffic in the area.
