Navarre man hit, killed while walking

A Navarre man walking on U.S. Highway 98 around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, was struck and killed.

Johnathan Lee Knauff, 20, was walking in an unknown direction in the inside westbound lane when a 2006 Pontiac driven westbound by Christopher Baumgardner, also of Navarre, struck Knauff, who was propelled into the median.

Baumgardner stopped immediately after impact. Knauff was pronounced dead on the scene.
