Georgia man succumbs to injuries in September wreck

Steve T. Mize, 54, was pronounced dead Sunday at Baptist Hospital, where he remained in critical condition following a crash on Sept. 30.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, other medical complications were an impact Mize's death. The medical examiner will detail those facts in an autopsy report.

Mize, of Marietta, Ga., was traveling eastbound on a motorcycle on Gulf Boulevard at when a car, driven by Penny L. Wilcox, 27, of Navarre, attempted to make a left turn into an apartment complex.

Wilcox failed to yield to Mize and the two collided. Wilcox suffered minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital.

Wilcox was cited for violation of a right-of-way.

Mize was not wearing a helmet.
