Suicide victim identified

Deputies released the identity of the man who committed suicide on Navarre Beach Tuesday.

Shortly after noon on Sept. 20, Neil Fredrick Doerr, 72, of the 1800 block of Falling Leaves Drive in Navarre, was found laying in a pool of blood in the parking lot behind Tom Thumb.

He died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head, authorities said.
