At its April 8 meeting, the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners approved the Navarre Pier access fee schedule, exactly as pier co-manager Dorothy Slye presented it on Monday...except for one category.
The board decided to "put on hold" any plans for a family pass because of the many procedural problems raised regarding issuing a family pass.
Originally, Slye had proposed a $500 pass for families -- a price that some commissioners deemed too steep.
No other pier surveyed along the Gulf Coast offers a family pass.
The refurbished Navarre Pier is scheduled to open in May.
